Hi, my name is Brittany Tait... a seamstress specializing in alterations, fashion and accessory design, custom sewing and costume design.

Since I was young, I have always had an interest in the arts and everything creative. I loved anything that started from nothing and resulted into something tangible and pretty. Sewing runs in my blood. My grandmother was an excellent seamstress, as is my mom, and it was they that taught me the art of sewing. I instantly fell in love with the process of creating something from scratch and seeing the end result, and I absolutely love to make unique pieces.

I graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2010 with a BA in Art, and a minor in English. After college, I took a detour into the fine art industry, but I kept coming back to my first, true passion: sewing... and I can’t think of spending my days doing anything else.

I believe sewing is an art form, and I love using my passion to communicate my thoughts and ideas. Just as an author incorporates symbolism into their story, I incorporate meaning and narrative into mine... as I like each piece I create to tell its own story. Much of my creativity is inspired by literature, historical fashion, and from the many — and constant — shapes and textures that nature provides us.

When I’m not sewing, you can find me in perusing through a thrift shop, by the water or spending time with family and friends.
